Emily is a total rewards leader with over a decade of experience across compensation and benefits. She has worked across the Americas, APAC, and EMEA and supported program strategy, design, implementation and ongoing execution as both a consultant and in-house at WTW, Facebook, and Canva. She has experience with broad based and executive compensation as well as sales incentive and equity plan design. Areas of passion and focus include job architecture, leveling frameworks, total rewards education, international expansion, and pay equity.

Since early 2020, Emily has built and led the Total Rewards team at the Sydney-based software company Canva where she’s designed foundational programs and seen the company scale from 750 to 4,500 Canvanauts and from 4 to over 15 countries. When she’s not hard at work, you can find Emily playing duplicate bridge, lifting weights, perusing an art gallery, or doing the Bondi to Coogee walk with her sausage dog Leo.

Charlie Franklin is the Co-founder & CEO of Compa, a VC-backed startup with the mission to make compensation fair and competitive for everyone. Compa is compensation intelligence software for enterprise total rewards teams navigating era of pay transparency. 

Charlie has over a decade HR experience, mostly focused in compensation. He started his career at Mercer, a leading global HR consulting firm, where he advised on compensation strategy for Fortune 500 companies in technology, financial services, life sciences, and energy. He subsequently led executive compensation and people strategy at Juniper Networks, and most recently led HR M&A and global mobility at Workday prior to founding Compa. 

Charlie resides in Newport Beach, California, where he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters hiking, gardening, and bicycling by the ocean.
